I find it helpful to have proper guidance when going to the gym alone for the first time. In the beginning I didn't know how to use the machines or really anything, but as I progressed I learned a lot and acquired a daily workout routine. I walked on the treadmill for 30 minutes and fluctuated from an incline of 8-10. My speed throughout the walk also fluctuated from 3.8-4-4.2. Alongside walking, I would sometimes run at a speed of 7 throughout the 30 minutes, but I always found it more effective to simply walk on an incline at a lower intensity. Next I would go to one of the dance rooms and do a combination of squats, leg workouts, planks, and 10 minute abs. I would throw in arm workouts and leg workouts every other day or so. I felt it was my major priority to workout on my full body cardio and abs every day. Then at night I would dance for 2 hours. I found my workout routine very effective and enjoyable and never felt unsatisfied, but working out should be partnered with eating well.
