After years of wishing my high school had a dance team, I finally took the bull by the horns and started one for my school. Myself, alongside two others, began an Allentown High School Co-ed Varsity Dance Team. After presenting our team goals and concept to the board of education, they gladly approved our request. Myself along with the other team leaders held auditions on September 10-12 and soon formed a team. It had been just us three leaders planning this team out for quite some time, but somehow with hard work and dedication towards our goal, we were able to transform the dream of 3 people to a team of 20. I am so proud to have formed this team for those who cannot afford a competition dance team. Every student at Allentown High School now has the opportunity to embrace their dance talents. Above all, I am proudest to leave this legacy behind for all of the underclassman who have a passion for dance just like myself, and have never received recognition at their school for their dance talent. I know this team will be nothing but success in the future and I am sure the team will continue to thrive as long as it is around.
